Women's Empowerment Principles

The Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), a joint initiative of UN Global Compact and UN Women, were developed in 2010 to provide a holistic framework to empower women and girls in the workplace, marketplace, and community. The seven WEPs Principles, are based on real-life business practice, and seek to elaborate the gender dimension of corporate sustainability, the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles and broader UN Goals and Values, such as the Sustainable Development Goals. The formal mechanism for company engagement is through the WEPs CEO Statement of Support.
